Funding announced for communities looking to increase affordable housing

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, December 28, 2017 - Nearly 2,400 Alaskans sought emergency shelter between July and September 2017, according to information collected from homeless providers and reported through the Alaska Homeless Information System. Many of those would benefit from a supportive development that combines safe housing with services which address individual mental health or chronic illnesses. To meet this need, Alaska Housing Financing Corporation announces a competitive grant to fund supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness and with disabilities.
