Valerie Baalerud received the prestigious Milken Educator Award at 9:30 a.m. on Feb 1st at a school assembly at Eagle River High School (ERHS). Baalerud is the only Alaska educator to receive the award this year and only 1 of 44 educators in the country.

This past weekend, MatSu Career and Technical High School hosted 18 First Tech Challenge robotics teams from around the state. The ERHS teams did an outstanding job and are now preparing for this week's upcoming tournament at Lathrop HS in Fairbanks.

ANCHORAGE, Jan. 8, 2018 – Caitlin Patterson finished her special four-race performance at the 2018 L.L.Bean U.S. National Cross Country Ski Championships at Kincaid Park on Monday the way she started it Wednesday – by blowing the doors off the competition. Monday’s late and dramatic come-from-behind win in the women’s classic sprint final capped Patterson’s run of four National titles in four races over six days.

The Anchorage Municipal Clerk’s Office announces mailing of the Address Verification Postcard to 208,000 qualified registered voters in the municipality. Anchorage voters should receive their postcard delivered by the United States Postal Service this week. The Postcard requests voters to review their current mailing address information, which is listed on the mailer. Current information helps make sure a voter will receive their ballot package at the correct mailing address.
