The Anchorage Assembly will be considering two proposed ordinances regarding the On Site Consumption of Marijuana in May, 2019.
The two ordinances are AO 2019-66 & AO 2019-67, re On Site Consumption of Marijuana, and are available for review on the Assembly webpage at www.muni.org/assembly. The public may submit written comments regarding the ordinances to the Anchorage Assembly, c/o the Municipal Clerk’s Office, PO Box 196650, Anchorage, Alaska 99501, or to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to submitting written comments, there will be four public meetings and opportunities for the public to hear about the proposed ordinances and regulation of On Site Consumption of Marijuana in Anchorage.
The four meetings are scheduled as follows:
Friday, May 10, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.,
the Assembly will hold a worksession to gather information from Municipal agencies on proposed Assembly ordinances AO 2019-66 & AO 2019-67, re On Site Consumption of Marijuana. The worksession will be held at City Hall, 632 W. 6th Avenue, Assembly Conference Room 155.
Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.,

Friday, May 17, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.,
the Assembly will hold a second worksession in the Assembly Conference Room 155 at City Hall to continue to gather information on the proposed Assembly ordinances.
Tuesday, May 21, 2019 beginning no earlier than 6:00 p.m.,
the Assembly will hold a public hearing at its regular Assembly Meeting at the Assembly Chambers, Z.J. Loussac Library, 3600 Denali, Room 108, on the proposed Assembly ordinances, AO 2019-66 & AO 2019-67, re On Site Consumption of Marijuana.
- Public testimony is allowed and encouraged. Each person will be allowed three minutes to testify. If the time scheduled for the public hearing proves inadequate to hear all persons present to testify, the public hearing will be continued. The continued public hearing may be scheduled for any day of the week. If continued, public notice on the date, time and location of the public hearing will be given as soon as practicable. The Assembly rules of procedure only allow the Assembly to take action to approve an ordinance after completion of the public hearing.
