Marketplace Spotlight – Heather Gough, Beautycounter
February 8, 2019 by Contributors in Marketplace
Heather loves how Beautycounter encourages consumers to lobby their legislators for safer skin care products and transparency.

By Aimee Woodley

Three years ago, Heather went to a Beautycounter party and learned about the natural-based skincare line.

Right away she was impressed with their commitment to educating the public about the harmful ingredients in our everyday products. She wanted to help educate others and put safer products in the hands of everyone, so she decided to join the company in their efforts.

As a leader in the clean beauty market, Beautycounter advocates for change in skin care laws. While only 30 harmful ingredients are banned in the United States, the European Union has banned 1400 ingredients from cosmetics. Beautycounter has taken it a step further and put together a “Never List.” This list is a collection of 1500 questionable or harmful ingredients that they refuse to use in their products.

They are so devoted to keeping their products safe that it took them three years to perfect the formula for their newest line of makeup.

Heather loves how Beautycounter encourages consumers to lobby their legislators for safer skin care products and transparency so that we are no longer in the dark about what we are putting on our faces. When Heather is not out educating others about Beautycounter and safe skincare at peoples’ home, events and through daily conversations, she is a speech therapist, wife, and mother to two teenagers.

Out of all of their fabulous products, Heather’s favorites include their shampoos for men and women and their Countermatch face cream that works as an adaptive moisture lotion. But their best-selling facial oils that nourish and hydrate your skin top her list.

You can learn more about this natural-based skincare line at www.beautycounter.com/heathergough.
