ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – The Alaska Railroad is offering a new opportunity to celebrate the Anchorage Fur Rendezvous Winter Festival.
Saturday, Feb. 23, the Railroad will debut the first Fur Rondy Express, a new special event train with entertainment for all ages.
With departures at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., the Alaska Railroad’s Fur Rondy Express will travel 2.5 hours round-trip from Anchorage to Indian, offering passengers plenty of time to enjoy a family-friendly ride featuring crafts, treats, activities and more.
“We’re always looking for ways to provide Alaskans new options to enjoy the Alaska Railroad, and this service is just another way we hope to do that this winter,” said Dale Wade, Alaska Railroad vice president of marketing and consumer service. “Fur Rondy is a great Alaska tradition, and we at the Alaska Railroad are thrilled to be a part of this year’s festivities.”
Onboard the Fur Rondy Express, passengers will enjoy Alaska-size fun, including an Alaska Native performance group, live bluegrass, crafts, Alaska bingo, and more.
Tickets are $71 for adults and $36 for children 2-11 years old. Children under two are considered “infant in lap” and ride for free with an accompanying adult.
