Department of Military & Veterans Affairs to host Veterans Day ceremony

Maj. Gen. Laurie Hummel will host a Veterans Day ceremony at the Alaska National Guard armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska — Maj. Gen. Laurie Hummel, adjutant general of the Alaska National Guard and commissioner of the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs, will host a Veterans Day ceremony at the Alaska National Guard armory on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, November 11 at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony is to honor the women and men that have served in the armed forces.  The ceremony will include the presentation of the 2018 Governor’s Veterans Advocacy Award by Verdie Bowen, State of Alaska Veterans Affairs director and a keynote address by Hummel.
