OCTOBER 25, 2018 JUNEAU – Eligible Alaska voters have until this Saturday to apply to receive an absentee by-mail ballot.
Voters planning to vote by mail must submit an absentee ballot application to the Division of Elections by Saturday, October 27.
Voters may also apply for a ballot to be sent electronically by either fax or online delivery. The deadline to receive an Absentee Ballot application for Electronic Submission is Monday, November 5 by 5:00 p.m Alaska Time.
Both the application for by-mail delivery and the application for electronic transmission can be found online at www.elections.alaska.gov. Applications must be printed, signed and returned to the division’s Absentee & Petition office by mail, fax or email as an attached as a PDF, TIFF or JPEG file. Signatures must be handwritten; a typed or digital signature is not valid.
Absentee Ballots returned by-mail must be postmarked on or before Election Day on Tuesday, November 6.

“Alaska voters have a variety of convenient options to cast a ballot and have their voice heard,” said State Elections Director Josie Bahnke. “We encourage all eligible voters to participate in the manner that works best for them.”
Early voting is also available at all Regional Offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Nome and Wasilla.
Regional Offices will be open October 22nd to November 5th, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
They will also be open Saturday November 3 from 10:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday, November 4 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. For a complete list of Early Voting locations visit our website at www.elections.alaska.gov.
