Alehouse vs. Stellar
ER Alehouse and Stellar Designs faced off in AA division semi-final action to see who would make it to the big dance. Alehouse was the last band standing, as they outplayed Stellar 2-0 into the AA finals. Always wheeling Chad Lammers, provided Alhouse’s two goals in his unassisted scoring performance. Alehouse found themselves shorthanded in the final seconds of the first period when Ryan Weaver got whistled for a body check. It was probably good fortune for Lammers who had less bodies to skate through enroute to his 1-0 Alehouse goal with just :04 remaining in the first period. Lammers’ skating clinic put everyone on the edge of their seats anticipating an offensive dividend. His skill finally paid off in the playoffs when Alehouse needed it most. Lammers nailed one again for Alehouse, scoring the 2-0 unassisted goal at 12:18 in the second period, while leaving a trail of outreached sticks in his wake. Despite six Stellar power plays in the last two periods, the Cinderella sixth seeds were unable to notch one on the board, but give credit where credit is due for playing themselves to a third ranked spot in the AA semifinal. Alehouse goalie Mike Allen was strong all night, recording 11 stops in the net. Stellar’s stopper Chris Harrington who’s been skating a few thousand miles past his last oil change these playoffs, had a solid effort on net, recording 26 stops on 28 shots. Alehouse will now go on to face AA surprise story PIAS for the ERHL championship.
