Alehouse vs. Stellar
In Game 5 of AA tournament play, number two seed Alehouse dominated sixth seed Stellar in the middle match, savoring every last goal in the 6-1 scoring buffet. Ryan Weaver led the Alehouse onslaught with two goals and an assist. Weaver scored the first goal of the game in the opener at 14:23. Off an assist from Chuck Homan, Weaver sniped it from the far left, putting Alehouse up 1-0. Matt Crosbie made good use of Weaver’s deflection in the crease, putting Alehouse up 2-0 at 9:45 into the first. With :07 remaining in the first period, Weaver nailed a quick one across the crease, putting Alehouse up 3-0, with Steve Truesdell on the over-night assist. Opening the second period, Stellar found the net when Robert McCormick scrum-scored inside the crease for the 3-1 goal. From then on, the night belonged to Alehouse, scoring the next three unanswered goals. Alan Skaggs took the feed from Chad Lammers, for the 4-1 Alehouse goal. In third period, there was more damage done when Homan connected with Karl Greninger and Cody Pitman, making it a 5-1 Alehouse party. In the final seconds, Adam Purdy dug around for that last chunk of Oreo in the ice cream. In the breakaway play, Purdy beat the clock to nail Alehouse’s final 6-1 goal with :06 remaining. Alehouse goalie, Mike Allen tallied 16 stops in the net while Chris Harrington recorded 30 saves for Stellar. Alehouse also won the face-off tally, 19-16.
