
Eagle River High School First Tech Challenge teams competed this weekend in a 20-team qualifier tournament at ERHS.
The Phantom Wolves, finished with a perfect 6-0 record and ranked second place all-around at the end of the qualification matches. They went on to play in the elimination rounds where they earned a third place tournament finish.
The Nuclear Wolves partnered with the Mechanlynx from Dimond High School and ranked second place in the tournament. The team also earned the coveted Think Award for top engineering notebook.
The Cyber Wolves were strong at the tournament and finished in eighth place. With their strong performances, the Cyber Wolves and Phantom Wolves both secured a qualifying spot at the state tournament in February.
All three teams will be playing in the state tournament, but will first play in tournaments next month at MatSu Career & Tech High School and at Lathrop High School in Fairbanks.
