The Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, serving the community since 1970 has announced the selection of Debbie Rinckey as its new executive director.
Debbie will fill the vacancy created by Dana Thorp Patterson’s departure in December. The selection was made after a regional search and selection process, during which Debbie served as a board member and volunteer for the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce.
“We are very pleased and excited to announce this appointment,” reported Colin Fay, President Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “Debbie will bring leadership and creativity to the Chamber’s programs and a deep sense of commitment to our community. She has served organizations at all program, fundraising, executive and leadership levels and has a wide range of experience.”
Debbie’s resume includes over 25 year of experience in administration, communications and marketing experience.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and has been working to complete her master’s degree in business administration at UAA. Prior to this appointment, Debbie was sole proprietor of her own company, Market Wise, a marketing consulting firm helping small businesses with their marketing and communication needs. She has also served in many organizations as a volunteer including Past President Eagle River Rotary, Past President American Marketing Association-Alaska Chapter, and several others in the community.
“I look forward to continuing to serve and partner with the Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce in this new capacity,” remarks Debbie. “I am dedicated to this community and this organization because it provides a vital service to those who live and do business here. The Chamber plays a key role in supporting and developing local business and I am committed to furthering the success of the organization.”
