Chugiak Soccer Club Awarded Mac Center Concessions Contract

CHUGIAK, AK, October 19, 2017 – Chugiak Soccer Board Member, Barry Schimmack, is pleased to announce that the soccer club has come to agreement with the Harry MacDonald Ice Arena to operate the concession stand during ice skating events beginning Saturday, October 28th.
The club will operate the concessions stand for over 45 high school hockey games and tournaments, youth tournaments, figure skating competitions, Learn to Skate shows, Eagle River Hockey League (ERHL) tournaments, and the annual Classic Car Show.
Reid McDonald, Harry MacDonald Manager, states, “We are excited to provide this fundraising opportunity for a local youth group. Since the Harry Mac turf is the home of the Chugiak Soccer Club, it makes perfect sense for them to operate this concession stand.” Tara Barndt, Committee Chair, adds, “Along with club bonding, it will be a great opportunity for our players and parents to bond as a club as we work together and learn how to handle money, food, and the operations of this small business.”
Board members and parent volunteers are busy creating a business plan to operate the concessions stand for these events and may be open additional days when there are large group meetings or events on the turf side of the facility.
