20-year-old Evan M. Blodgett of Eagle River turned himself in to the Anchorage Jail for an outstanding warrant. Officers responded and remanded him.
2:15 am – Misconduct Involving Weapon
(20300 Block of Laughlin St)
A resident heard voices outside her residence. She grabbed her father’s firearm and accidentally discharged it. Officers searched the area and did not find anyone outside the home. There were no injuries.
11:06 pm – Burglary
(22400 Block of Birchwood Loop Rd)
Items were stolen from inside an unoccupied camper that was parked on private property. There was no sign of forced entry.
12:00 pm – Stolen Vehicle
(21100 Block of Eastside Drive)
A home-built ATV was parked on the side of a driveway at a residence when it was stolen sometime over a 22-hour period.
3:00 pm – Check Fraud
(8300 Block of Meadow Creek)
The victim discovered two checks had been stolen, forged, and cashed on her personal account when she attempted to pay a bill and saw she no longer had funds available.
4:18 pm – Aggravated Assault
(17700 Block of Monte Rd)
81-year-old Lloyd E. Gailey of Eagle River was arrested and charged with Assault after getting into a physical altercation with his roommate. The roommate had non-life-threatening visible injuries to her arm.
6:51 pm – Suspicious Circumstances
(27900 Block of Eagle River Road)
Citizens called APD Dispatch and reported it looked like a group of people were trying to break into a vehicle parked on the side of the road. Officers responded and made contact with individuals who were trying to tow a broken-down vehicle. Drugs were found in a discarded pouch near the scene. The meth was collected and turned in to APD Evidence for destruction. No one was charged for the drugs as possession/ownership could not be established nor proven.
3:28 pm – Shoplift
(13200 Block of Old Glenn Hwy)
A phone was shoplifted from GCI.
5:45 pm – Harassment
(16600 Block of Yellowstone)
An adult female contacted police because a former male acquaintance had shown up at her house unannounced, more than once, even though she told him to stay away. The victim did not have address information or a last name for the male, therefore, officers could not contact him. Officers provided the victim with instructions on how to apply for a stalking protective order.
2:24 am – Aggravated Assault
(17400 Block of Stonewood Pl)
An intoxicated female called police to report she had been physically assaulted by her live-in boyfriend a month prior. There was not enough probable cause to support charges. The female was given instructions on how to apply for a protective order.
