Bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?
9:27 pm – Disturbance
(16500 Block of Centerfield Dr)
Officers responded to a residence in reference to a verbal altercation between an adult male and adult female who had been in a dating relationship. The female claimed the male being at the residence was in violation of conditions of release from a previous DV-related arrest. The officer made multiple phone calls but was unable to verify those conditions (it was after 9PM in the evening) and needed to do further follow-up during normal business hours. The male adult involved was cooperative, stated there were no conditions currently in affect, and agreed to leave the location for the evening. This case is still pending.
4:06 am – Driving Under the Influence
(AIH Parking Lot)
An officer saw a vehicle parked in the AIH parking lot. The vehicle’s lights and turn signal were on, the keys were in the ignition in the “on” position, and the driver was passed out behind the wheel. 39-year-old David A. Mullins of Eagle River was charged with Operating Under the Influence.
3:34 pm – Vandalism
(Eagle River Bowl/Town Park)
Two juveniles stole a fire extinguisher from Eagle River Bowl and then proceeded to deploy that extinguisher inside a nearby porta-potty. Officers made contact with the two boys who were on bicycles. As officers were in the process of contacting the parents of both children, the two ran off on foot and refused to comply with officers’ directions to stop and come back. The parents of both involved kids responded to the scene. Both boys were charged with Criminal Mischief, Theft IV, and Resisting Arrest. The bicycles the boys had been riding were taken by officers for safe keeping as the parents stated the bikes did not belong to the boys (the bikes had not been reported as stolen to police).
10:00 am – Stolen Vehicle
(16900 Block of Baronoff Ave)
At 6:00 AM the victim noticed her Chevy truck had been stolen from her driveway overnight. The truck was unlocked and a key was inside of it. A few hours later, at 10:48 AM, the victim saw her unoccupied stolen Chevy abandoned on the side of the Glenn Highway near the Eklutna Flats. Officers responded and the vehicle was returned to its owners.
3:17 am – Drugs
(VFW Parking Lot)
While on patrol an officer found four parked trucks, in a lot next to the VFW parking lot, which had their driver’s side windows broken out. One of the trucks had its emergency lights and alarm activated. It does not appear anything was taken. The officer was able to locate the owner of two of the vehicles right away (they belonged to a business). As other officers arrived and began searching the area for suspects, a suspicious occupied vehicle was located in the VFW lot. Officers contacted the driver, 35-year-old Jeremy M. Schenck of Eagle River. Schenck was found in possession of several drugs to include heroin and meth. Schenck was charged with Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance.
6:00 am – Stolen Property
(Baronoff Rd & Old Eagle River)
During the night a Vespa scooter was stolen from the owner’s driveway. The Vespa was pushed down the road a little ways and then subsequently abandoned. Police responded when an area resident called in the abandoned scooter. The owner of the scooter didn’t know the Vespa had been stolen until they were contacted by police.
11:57 am – Theft/Larceny
(11300 Block of Dawn St)
25-year-old Kaitlyn M. Bauer was cleaning a house in Eagle River while the homeowner was out of town. Bauer removed the homeowner’s Chase credit card and used it at both Walmart and Tesoro. Bauer was arrested and charged with Theft II and Fraudulent Use of a Stolen Access Device.
3:13 am – Assault
(10800 Block of Corrie Way)
19-year-old Brendan A. Frenzel of Eagle River got into a loud verbal altercation with his girlfriend. When Frenzel’s father tried to intervene, Frenzel shoved his father into a vehicle several times. Frenzel’s father suffered multiple cuts and abrasions as a result. Frenzel left the area on foot prior to police arrival; officers obtained an arrest warrant for Assault. As of this time the warrant is still outstanding.
9:09 pm – Disturbance
(17100 Block of Coronado Rd)
A juvenile ran away from a behavioral facility and went back home where he got into an argument with his mother. Officers responded and transported the juvenile back to the facility.
