Firearms Stolen From Several Area Homes Last Week
Thursday July 6
11:47 am – DOA

An adult male died of natural causes in his home.
Sunday July 9
12:01 am – Theft/Larceny
(18800 Block of Andreanof DR)
The window of a truck was broken out while the truck was parked in front of a residence overnight. Items were taken from inside the vehicle including three firearms.
12:15 pm – Burglary
(12200 Block of Old Glenn Hwy)
Two exterior doors were forced open on a building containing multiple businesses. It does not appear that entry was made into any of those individual businesses and nothing was taken.
Monday July 10
5:00 pm – Theft/Larceny
(19300 Block of Trail Bay DR)
Several items, including a firearm, were stolen from a pickup while the vehicle was parked in front of a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.
Tuesday July 11
1:05 am – Driving Under the Influence
(16000 Block of Birchwood Loop)
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after the vehicle struck several construction cones. The driver, 31-year-old Brittney R. Brower of Chugiak, was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence.
(Eagle River ATV)
Officers responded to Eagle River ATV Repair in regards to reports of two people breaking a window of the business and then crawling inside. As officers arrived two people fled the business’s property on a motorized dirt bike. An officer attempted a traffic stop, but discontinued the pursuit when the suspect’s driving became too reckless. No damage was found to the building. The property owner responded to the scene; it did not appear that entry was made and nothing was taken.
Wednesday July 12
11:32 am – Shoplift
(Carrs, Eagle River)
18-year-old Matthew J. Middleton of Wasilla was arrested after shoplifting from Carrs and then physically assaulting the loss prevention employee who attempted to stop him. Middleton was charged with Criminal Mischief IV, Theft IV, and Assault IV.
2:49 pm – Burglary
(16400 Block of Mills Park)
A homeowner heard someone enter the garage through an unlocked door and yell out “hello?” When the homeowner responded, the unknown male said, “wrong house” and left. The homeowner watched the male get into a vehicle, drive to a neighbor’s house, park in that driveway, and then leave a little while later without ever exiting the car.
11:02 pm – Drugs
(16300 Block of Artillery RD)
An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling 81 miles per hour on the Glenn Highway which is a posted 65 mph zone. A computer check showed that the driver, 36-year-old Charles J. Mosley JR of Anchorage, was on probation, is a convicted felon, and was on the Scofflaw List for over $4,000 (unpaid traffic citations). The officer contacted Adult Probation who asked the officer to search Mosley’s vehicle. During that search a handgun and drugs were found. Mosley was arrested and charged with Misconduct Involving a Weapon II and III and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance. Mosley was cited for the speeding infraction and the vehicle was towed for the Scofflaw violation.
