Sunday July 13

5:44 am – Vandalism

(16400 Block of Home Pl)

Officers responded to an apartment in response to reports of a juvenile male and his mother yelling at each other and throwing things. During the course of the argument the juvenile broke his mother’s phone. The juvenile was charged with Criminal Mischief V.

2:29 pm – Shoplift

(Carrs Eagle River)

58-year-old Kathryn A. Misenhimer of Eagle River was charged with Shoplifting after leaving Carrs without paying for several items.

3:02 pm – Vandalism

(Garcia’s Restaurant)

During the Bear Paw Festival a motorcycle was parked in a parking space behind Garcia’s. Police were contacted after the motorcycle’s owner discovered someone had relocated the bike to another parking space. The owner stated the bike was scratched and the kickstand was bent during the move.

Monday July 14

1:01 am – Vehicle Tampering

(17100 Block of Hanson Dr)

A citizen called police after hearing a loud noise and observing a flashlight being shone around inside a bus parked in a church parking lot. Officers responded and saw that the side door to the bus was open and a door at the rear of the bus had been completely removed. Officers went inside the bus; no one was inside. It appeared as though someone has been living in it.

11:15 am – Stolen Vehicle

(19300 Block of Old Eagle River Rd)

A 2002 Chevy pickup was stolen from a business parking lot. The unoccupied vehicle was recovered a short time later from a People Mover Park-and-Ride parking lot in Chugiak.

4:09 pm – Shoplift

(Carrs Eagle River)

37-year-old Joshua L. Harris of Glendale, Arizona, was charged with shoplifting after he loaded several food items into empty plastic bags and then walked out of Carrs without paying.

7:17 pm – Robbery

(Eagle River Tesoro)

A juvenile went into Tesoro, went behind the counter, grabbed money that an employee was putting into the safe, and then ran out of the store. Two bystanders initially gave chase but stopped when the suspect pointed a gun at them. The suspect left in a vehicle. This case is still under investigation.

Tuesday July 15

2:46 pm – Shoplift

(Carrs Eagle River)

30-year-old Bethany M. McKeel of Anchorage was charged with Shoplifting after putting several items in her backpack and then leaving Carrs without paying for any of them. McKeel also ate food inside the store, which she did not pay for, that she had retrieved from a shelf.

Wednesday July 16

3:57 pm – Burglary

(19300 Block of Spruce Crest Dr)

Items were stolen from the basement of a home. It’s unknown when the theft occurred (sometime since January 2017). It’s unknown if the theft occurred while anyone was home or not.
