Threat to Kill With a Fork; Stolen Vehicles and Retail Store Theft

Fri., March 17
An APD officer responded to a home in the 16500 block of Centerfield Drive in Eagle River regarding alleged theft of keys. After the officer made contact with and spoke with complainant, she opted not to press charges against the person alleged to have taken the keys.
An unknown male stole three bottles of liquor from the Eagle River Wal-Mart store in the 18600 block of the Eagle River Road.
Mon, March 20
A 2005 Ford F350 pickup was stolen off the lot at JPS Cars in the 12900 block of the Old Glenn Highway in Eagle River.
An arrest warrant for Fred Esguerra, age 50 of Eagle River, was issued to police after Esguerra allegedly assaulted his fiancé at a home he shares with his fiancé in the 17400 block of Coronado Road in Eagle River. Esguerra allegedly broke several windows in the home. Police were unable to located Esguerra. The arrest warrant currently on file charges Esguerra with Assault and Criminal Mischief.
Tues., March 21
Unidentified 17-year-old male was caught shoplifting at the Eagle River Wal-Mart store in the 18600 block of Eagle River Road. Police contacted the juvenile who agreed to participate in a new program, “Corrective Education Course,” offered by Wal-Mart in lieu of prosecution.
Dayquan D. McKinnon-Winkler, age 21 of Eagle River, was arrested and jailed in Anchorage for alleged Assault and Criminal Mischief. McKinnon-Winkler was contacted by police at a residence in the 17200 block of Palos Verdes Drive in Eagle River. After allegedly consuming alcohol and marijuana, McKinnon-Winkler allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with his father. McKinnon-Winkler allegedly broke several times in the home, threw a television remote at his father and made a verbal threat to kill his father with a fork.
An unidentified woman shoplifted several items from the Eagle River Wal-Mart store in the 18600 block of the Eagle River Road and ran out of the store.
Wed., March 22
Workers at the Speedy Auto Glass in the 12100 block of Business Blvd in Eagle River found several windows damaged when coming to work in the morning. Workers believe the damage happened overnight. Investigating police determined that the business was not entered. Investigation continues regarding suspects in this case.
An unidentified person paid $86 cash for a purchase at the Eagle River Wal-Mart store in the 18600 block of Eagle River Road. Store personnel later discovered that two of the $20 bills used in the transaction was counterfeit bills. The bills were turned over to police.
A red Chevy pickup truck was stolen from a hangar at Birchwood Airport in the 20100 block of the Birchwood Spur Rd. The unoccupied stolen vehicle was located by an officer a few hours later at Motel 6 in Anchorage. The case is still under investigation.
