Concealed Weapon Violation; Daughter Hits Mom and a Laptop Dispute

Thurs., Feb. 9
Two unidentified men shoplifted a speaker from the AT&T store in the 11400 block of Business Blvd in Eagle River.
Locked mailboxes in the 16500 block of Centerfield Drive in Eagle River were found pried open.
A homeowner in the 12400 block of Winter Park Place in Eagle River reported that a safe containing several guns was stolen while the homeowner was at work. The homeowner reported that a window had been broken to gain access to the home. The value of the firearms was not readily available. The case is still under investigation; APD has made no arrests at this time.
Fri., Feb. 10
Black William Snyder, age 29 of Eagle River, was charged with alleged possession of a concealed deadly weapon without informing police and with alleged misconduct involving a controlled substance IV. APD patrol officers made contact with Snyder at the Chevron gas station in the 11800 block of the Old Glenn Highway in Eagle River after receiving a report that a vehicle had been sitting at a gas pump for approximately 20 minutes without anyone exiting the vehicle to fuel it. When officers made contact with Snyder at the Chevron, he allegedly failed to immediately disclose the presence of a concealed handgun on his hip as required by law. According to police records, Snyder allegedly has failed in the past to make the mandatory disclosure and has received warnings regarding his past alleged failure. APD patrol officers reported finding drugs in the vehicle that Snyder was in at the Chevron.
Ross A. Allen, age 28 of Chugiak, was arrested for alleged operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana and for alleged possession of a firearm while allegedly being under the influence according to what police term “Drunk in Possession.” Allen allegedly had a handgun on his person while allegedly under the influence. APD patrol officers were alerted by a private citizen phone call to APD Dispatch regarding a vehicle that was unable to maintain its lane and made contact with Allen in the 15600 block of the E. Eagle River Loop Road.
Sat., Feb. 11
Lester Jaye Keener, age 50 of Anchorage, was arrested in the 16300 block of Artillery Road in Eagle River for allegedly operating a motor vehicle under the influence. APD patrol officers had made a traffic stop on the vehicle Keener was driving after having observed the vehicle swerving in its lane and nearly striking a guardrail.
Mon., Feb. 13
Brandy Mariah Kalkins, age 23 of Chugiak, was arrested for alleged aggravated assault after she allegedly got into a physical altercation with her mother. Police responded to a residence in the 20700 block of Starner Street in Chugiak for this incident.
Tues., Feb. 14
A vehicle parked at the intersection of the Old Glenn Highway and Fire Lake Drive had two different license plates. Police determined the rear plate was not registered to the vehicle. The plate was seized by APD.
An unidentified adult male shoplifted undisclosed items from the Wal-Mart store in the 18600 block of Eagle River Road. Wal-Mart security personnel confronted the suspect at the store exit but the suspect ran into the parking lot where he ran directly into the front quarter panel of another vehicle. Wal-Mart security personnel reported to police that after leaving a sizable dent in the first vehicle, the suspect got into another vehicle and drove away.
Police responded to a civil dispute between two acquaintances regarding a laptop. The incident occurred in the 13600 block of Fire Creek Trail in Eagle River.
