Sat., Dec. 10
John Paul Parks, age 34 of Juneau, was charged with alleged operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence. Parks was contacted by police in the 12100 block of Business Blvd in Eagle River after an APD patrol officer observed loss of control of the vehicle Parks was operating in the roadway.
Aimee Plummer, age 40 of Eagle River, was cited for shoplifting at the Eagle River Wal-Mart when she walked out of the store without paying for certain items that were concealed on her person. Plummer had paid for some other items. She was given a future date for a court appearance.
Alicia McCain, age 39 of Wasilla, was charged with alleged operation of a motor vehicle under the influence on the Glenn Highway. McCain was contacted by and APD patrol officer in the 16300 block of Artillery Road in Eagle River. McCain’s two-and-half year-old daughter was in the vehicle at the time of the alleged drunk driving and the arrest by APD. McCain was also cited for alleged child neglect and reckless endangerment. A family member came to the scene of the arrest and took possession of McCain’s child. More than one concerned citizen had contacted APD to report the alleged drunk driving on the Glenn Highway.
Tues., Dec. 13
Lindi Lehnhausen, age 29 of Wasilla, was arrested for alleged operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence. The arrest occurred in the 16300 block of Artillery Road in Eagle River. APD officers were notified by a concerned citizen who reported he had stopped to assist a female driver who was stuck in the ditch. The concerned citizen said he could smell alcohol on the driver.
A report of a stolen vehicle at the corner of Fireball Road and Monte Street in Eagle River turned out to be unfounded. Turns out the man calling in the complaint actually merely forgot where he parked his vehicle.
Thurs., Dec. 15
Jason Jensen, age 28, and Stephanie Flores, age 23, both of Wasilla, were cited for alleged theft in the third degree after allegedly walking out of the Eagle River Wal-Mart with a cart full of $700 worth of groceries that were not paid for. Both were trespassed from all Wal-Mart stores for the rest of their lives and were given a future date for a court appearance.
Sat., Dec. 17
Michael Lappo, age 59 of Chugiak, was charged with alleged operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence after APD made contact with him walking in the 22200 block of the Birchwood Loop Road. A concerned citizen had called APD stating observation of a male showing signs of intoxication walking around a store and getting in to a vehicle and driving away. The concerned citizen was able to provide a detailed description of both the driver and the vehicle. APD patrol officers contacted Lappo when they saw him walking along the road and he matched the description provided. Lappo initially denied driving, but later admitted to driving stating that he decided to walk because he had gotten his vehicle stuck in a ditch.
Nathan Wagner, age 25 of Chugiak, was charged with alleged felony operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence. Felony operation is the charge when someone has been charged with at least three incidents of operation of a motor vehicle under the influence within a ten-year period. Wagner was contacted in the 12200 block of the Old Glenn Highway after a concerned citizen reported seeing a person who appeared to be intoxicated walking around in a store and going out to a vehicle.
Mon., Dec. 19
Thomas Frazier, age 22 of Chugiak, was arrested for alleged operation of a motor vehicle under the influence in the 21900 block of Sheltering Spruce Drive in Chugiak. An off-duty Alaska State Trooper called APD after stopping to assist a driver who had struck a stop sign and then had driven into a ditch.
Tues., Dec. 20
Courtney Bauman, age 23 of Wasilla, was cited for alleged shoplifting at the Eagle River Fred Meyer store and assigned a future date for a court appearance.
